busy busy..

missed wirting for several days..Oct 19-21 went normally busy. 22nd i had the pre-op coz i'm gonna have surgery on my left shoulder, the diagnosis? left shoulder impingement with calcific tendonitis and the procedures to be done are arthroscopic subacromial decompression (wish i got that right..) and debridement of labral tear, that was yesterday the 30th..IV insertion was painful, the nurse that administered it said that it really hurts more when inserted on the hand than it is on the arm which unfortunately can't be done in my case since my right arm has to be bent, (my orthopedist, Dr. Yasgur must have me lying on my right side while operating on my left shoulder), then the anaesthesiologist would inject me on my neck to block the nerves leading to the shoulder the doc's gonna work on, THAT scared me more, but i didn't really knew anythin' bout it because they knocked me out with PROPOFOL, (same stuff that knocked Michael Jackson dead..) which was injected through the IV and tell you what..it was sooooo freakin painful made me almost scream, which i did contemplate to do but decided not to, so as not to embarrass myself, you feel it goin through the vain, feels like rippin it, good it only lasted for a couple of seconds and then i'm out, next thing i knew it was all over and done, didn't remember anythin bout the surgery, felt like i was out just a couple of minutes but it was actually a good 5 hours. now i'm on a sling and havin a hard time, using only one arm, it so hard to do the usual stuffs without the luxury of using both. and the meds i need to take oh i hate them they make me nauseous and drowsy.

needles, needles..i hate being poked with it in any part of my body. to most people it's just nothing, to me it's terrorizing..kaya everytime injection has to be given i get so scared. kakahiya..!!

yesterday..today..

tired to the max since Thursday..working 6 hours straight i went back & forth, back & forth..well, actually there's a lot of consolations here: first of all i get exercised for full 6 hours everyday, second of all i don't get to eat a lot kc when i'm home (when i was still jobless till last Thursday my brain seemed locked in my tummy - kain lagi ang nasa isip then spend the whole day either in front of the tv or my laptop Jesus Mary & Joseph..!! upss..sariling wika natin SUSMARYOSEP! whehe..!!) third of all, meron sweldo o ha..!!

and so..YANKEES beat ANGELS the second time around, next game will be in ANGELS' stadium in Anaheim o wow..!! the weather's gonna be oh so good di paris here in NY feels like winter na this whole past week kawawa naman ang mga ANGELS di sanay sa weather here in the east.

but bad news..GIANTS fall to New Orleans SAINTS today huhuhu..48-27!!!

and it's also my 2nd day at work..

13, 14, & 15th of October..

oohah..missed writing for 3 days, why? becoz..13th i started the liquid diet required of me for my colonoscopy and started the trilyte 6pm all through out that evening, omg i've got to drink the freakin thing 4 oz every 15 minutes and practically go to the bathroom every after huhuhu. .but early in the day i was still able to go to the WALKWAY OVER THE HUDSON which was a historic railroad turned into a walkway, a state park, it's 200 and some feet above the Hudson River, where you can bike ride, jog, run, walk, skate. an awesome view of the mountain with the fall foliage on it's peak as a bonus. wish my kids, my siblings and my frendhips in SJOM could see all of these.

14th at 6:30 early in the morning, drove to the Ambulatory Service for the procedure, whoa, one of the things i hate in my life are needles..and believe u me that freakin' nurse gave me the fright of the day when she inserted the IV, boy..it hurts! then wheeled to the OR (?) and sedate me with PROPOFOL now MICHAEL and I are related in a way hahaha..that was the last thing i remembered, the nurse telling me she's gonna administer propofol through the IV. the next thing i knew is when i woke up and was told that everything is done hahaha..as if i just went to a good sleep, just like that, didn't feel anything.

15th, my first day of work ooh lala..far far different from what i used to, but it's work anyway so got to go for it..but this is when my right back side bothered me sooooo much..feels like cramping, whenever the pain strikes it freezes me and had to almost stop breathing bec it really aches..can't even shed a tear when it does, any movement i make makes it worse hmm..don't know the reason, have to see my primary doctor again for this..(hmm..OLD AGE!!) but damn..it really is soooo painful even breathing makes it more painful.

AND IT'S 15th of OCTOBER..u won't believe it..IT SNOWED!!!! grabe na to..seems mother nature is confused herself, it's not winter yet! but it really snowed and the temperature is down to low 30's ano ba yan..!! can't wait for December to start the snow falling??????

new york cheesecake..

eating new york cheesecake while working on my blogspot, and listening to rihanna at the same time. i didn't do much today, just drove to and from mt. kisco w/c is like 47 mi. from home..that makes it a little less than a 100 mi back and forth..the fall foliage on the way never fails to amaze me with all the bright colors: gold, orange, yellow, brown, burgundy, green..it's so beautiful - miles and miles of bright colors..

it's started to get chilly, you can't go out without wearing warm clothes anymore..and it's giving me a headache, my ears feel like they're somewhere other than on either side of my head..hahaha..

also today is the last day i can eat solid foods, tomorrow starts my liquid diet in preparation for the colonoscopy on wednesday. if i'm in the Philippines i won't undergo any of these that i'm subjected to here in the states..in the Philippines u just die kasi ang mahal kaya mgpagamot hahaha..

by the way, early this afternoon i got a call from the personnel manager that i am to start work on the 15th whoa..!! mackee's got a job, well..it's far far different from teaching, and so is the sweldo that's for sure but it's just fine with me..i just don't care about teaching here in the states..really! my teaching heart i left in San Jose, LOL..

FLEA MARKET../GIANTS/YANKEES

it was beautiful out today..went to a flea market at Beekman Road, in my entire life i've never seen such a huge flea market as this, i was told they hold this annually and usually during Columbus Day weekend..the area spans like forever..huge! lot of stuffs are for sale. got a set of rosary necklace and bracelet, a back rest for the car seat dahil sumasakit kaya ang likod ko sa upuan kakainis (well, old age does that) a small battery powered toy car for river,btw he's gonna be 3 yrs this Oct 27 , a 3 for $10 flaglets one for halloween, one for thanksgiving and one for christmas..i also bought 2 boxes of christmas cards i'm hoping to send out to friendships in the Philippines.

then from the flea market drove to Macy's and got a time piece (Anne Klein of New York) whahaha..it really is a good one.

after all these shopping i did in the morning i watched (football) NY GIANTS play against Oakland RAIDERS, as usual GIANTS crushed the opponent..and in the evening watched (baseball) NY YANKEES play against MINNESOTA TWINS..which up to this moment is still on with the YANKEES leading 2 to 1 in the 9th inning. If the TWINS lost this game..they're done!! Oh i need to make mention that this is the American League Division Series,best of 5, between YANKEES and TWINS. YANKEES is already in front with 2-0 situation over the TWINs.

WHOA..!! YANKEES did it..power hitting, power pitching..they swept TWINS..!! Now, it's gonna be ANAHEIM ANGELS next.

hmmm..ang aga-aga medyo di na naman maganda ang takbo ng emo ni mackee, why?? e kc ba naman i would like to talk to ian so i sent her mama a text asking if he's still up and telling her i'm gonna call kc i want to talk to ian, kasabi sabi ba naman e low bat daw ang fon ngwek! is that a good reason? e they're home naman, how would you evaluate this situation? i want to give ian a call, he's up pa naman sabi, they're home, sabi ng mama nya the fon's battery is low, so? what do you think? what am i supposed to think?

anyway, later in the afternoon i'm going out and power walk hoping i could build up my cardio endurance again..sa katamaran at katakawan i can't even run 10 meters without panting grabe!!
it's really true the best way to weight loss is SELF DISCIPLINE!! if you are packed with this secret words within your very own self walang reason para hindi ka mabawasan ang mga taba-taba mo sa katawan.

yesterday..

ano ba ginawa ko kahapon? la lang, just bought a GIANTS pull-over kc the one i bought dati was so tight na i think i sent it to apple months ago..then i spent the afternoon watching AMERICAN LEAGUE DIVISION SERIES (baseball) between NY YANKEES and MINNESOTA TWINS (while feasting on New York Cheesecake with strawberry drooping..grabe pano bang hindi tataba?) the game was sooooooo thrilling, Alex Rodriguea did a two run homerun ooohhlala..YANKEES won over TWINS..4-3 with TEIXEIRA'S walk-off homer ending the 11th inning..that was awesome!!! hahaha..! YANKEES is now in a 2-0 lead over TWINS.

nothing..

did nothing unusual today..aside from going to Toys "R" Us and look around, chance i might see a big rag doll so that there would be "somebody" sitting at the back of the car. but no luck..

but this is our batch's 4th year anniversary of Coming to America, we arrived here in NYC last October 8 of '05..

took this picture while driving to my orthopedist Dr. Yasgur down Katonah, upstate NY. just learned from him that my left shoulder needs surgery due to the calcium build-up and bone spur that are causing the pain i'm suffering. impingement that is..ahhhhh..he explained the procedure, first of which is that an anaesthesiologist's gonna stick a needle on my neck to numb my shoulder and arm OMG..!!! and also i will be sedated..am not worried about the surgery itself bec. i won't feel it and won't even see when they do the procedure (ngwek!!) what i'm scared of is the fact that they're gonna stick a needle on my neck wahhhh....

time for picking pumpkins..and make jack'olantern, i wonder why we don't grow these in the Philippines..or are we? guess i just don't know where in the country if we do..anyway tong mga pumpkins na to are bought early October as decors for the upcoming halloween and eventually will be made into pumpkin pie and pumpkin whatever for thanksgiving come November, buti lang di agad nabubulok. but i don't eat pumpkins, i don't even eat squash sa atin e pumpkin pa kaya so i just got pumpkin to make a jack o'lantern..

picking apples @ BARTON ORCHARDS..

havin' fun picking apples at a farm in Lagrange, a couple of days ago, wished my kids were with me to share the moment, to some this is just ordinary event but for me (and since this was the first time i ever did this in my 4 years here in NY) it is something to reckon with..i've been wanting to do this ever since i came here.

next thing i would want to do is to pick lemons..
hehehe..come to think of it i might as well search for lemon farms around here.

west point..Oct. 3 '09

wanna share what i did today,..drove to west point with olive abarquez, alvin's wife, she's from Cebu. picked her up the night before at Beacon Metronorth Train station. the following morning we drove to West Point and after missed turns, making big circles, losing our way we eventually get to the correct gate entrance with the aid of my genie Samantha (my Nuvi GPS). we're sooooo late that by the time we arrived, the football game was done..(actually it's a blessing in disguise kasi sayang din kaya ang entrance fee no? $43 entrance fee..!!)

but then, we just saw the hockey game between the two ARMY hockey teams, the BLACK and the GOLD..i think it's a tune up game - that's just my opinion, im not sure if that's what's really going on..and of course i stand corrected.

as usual there'd been picture taking with olive's camera and awa ng Diyos until now i don't get copies..that's the problem when my being ulyanin strikes..i forgot to take my cam with me..

morning na naman..

morning na naman..what am i gonna do today aside from watch tv, watch soaps via internet, tungangaan ang kamatis sa deck, do the dishes na i forgot to wash the night before, think of going to the gym (upss..kung di na naman tamarin). chat with lemon who's online pero after a while would say "ma tulog na ako, 7am may make up class kami".

whoa! hirap nitong walang trabaho. well, hopefully i would land that job which i applied for, one which is so different from what i've been doin for years..hahaha..different in the sense that there would be no students..no whistle hangin' down my neck, no lesson plans, no calls to the parents i have to make, no observation classes to be held with the AP and the Principal herself present making you get nervous and get off track when you are not prepared..no cards to accomplish, and so many NO's. but most of all NO HASSLES!!

salary-wise and benefit-wise i have no idea as of now if this new job im gonna take is on the level of teaching..but really..i don't care!! more important thing is i have something i would be busy of and would make me go out of the house hahaha..and i'm gonna have a resource, financial resource that is, and i would be able to send my kids stuffs again, stuffs i want them to have. o ha..??!!

lalo pa now my apo's bday is fast approaching..
